It may be that we are desperate to get in the Christmas spirit, but we have had an idea, and it’s one that we are VERY excited about…
This year has been tough for most, but especially hard for some. With everything that has gone on with the coronavirus, including sickness & the loss of loved ones, lockdowns, furloughing & unemployment, for some families there really hasn’t been a single bit of good news this year.
And well, we want to do something to try and change that.
We believe Muddy Boots is so much more than a nursery, it’s a big family, and we would love our family to do something amazing this Christmas.
Here is the idea…
We want to partner with York Food Bank, who are connected to families in need in York and send a huge care package from us to them. By us, we mean all of us. Team members, families, extended families, little ones and us as a company, all coming together to donate anything we can to make some sure some families have a glimmer of hope, maybe for the first time this year.
We have really been thinking into how to make this happen, and how to make it easy & accessible to get involved with, and so we are going to open up the following avenues for all of us to donate:
- If you wish to throw a couple of extra bits into the trolley when out doing your big shop, and drop them off at your site, please feel free to do so. Having spoken to the team at the food bank, they are particularly short on the following items:
- Long Life Juice
- Laundry Detergent
- Sponge Puddings
- Tinned Fruit
- Toilet Rolls
- Shaving Foam
- Christmas Fayre
- That being said, the following items are used to fill a food parcel, so please feel free to also donate:
- Breakfast cereals
- Soup
- Pasta
- Rice
- Pasta sauce
- Tinned beans
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Tinned fruit
- Tea or coffee
- Biscuits
- Snacks
- If you would rather donate financially, or know someone in your family who would, we have also opened a Just Giving page, which you can find here. We will close the page nearer to Christmas, and send all the money directly to their team to purchase whatever they need!
And that’s how we think this could run. Our dream is nearer to Christmas to be able to drop off a load of great food and household products, as well as a nice bit of cash, all coming from our Muddy Boots family to families struggling across York.
Please don’t feel any obligation to give if you can’t, but if you would like too, we really think that together we can make a whole batch of families Christmasses a whole lot better.
