Hello everyone, 

What lovely weather we are having at the moment! I hope you are enjoying it as much as we are here in nursery.

Just to say a big thank you for bearing with us in terms of news of timescales regarding the move. As mentioned in April’s newsletter, we have had some set-backs with the land and so it is now very unlikely that we will be moving as soon as September, if at all in 2014. I am sorry I don’t have more information but we will of course keep you posted!

Therefore with this in mind, we have decided to do some improvements to our current premises. We have decided to add another room to the nursery – we are very excited as we very soon will have a new ‘Dragonflies’ room, which will become our Pre-School. This will be at the end of the corridor (beyond Caterpillars Room) with its own teaching room to the side and access to a new play area.

Therefore, Caterpillars will remain for our youngest babies (non-mobile), Cocoons will be for our older babies/young toddlers (mobile), Butterflies will be for older toddlers, and Dragonflies will be for Pre-School, enabling us to have a better focus on smaller numbers of children of a more specific age group within the rooms. 

We are also making more general improvements to the building – watch this space for new fixtures and furnishings in all playrooms, as well as new equipment and resources on their way. 

Naturally as we open Dragonflies, there will be transitions to a new room for some children – their Key Person or the Room Leader will have a chat with parents to decide upon the best course of action in terms of settling in sessions, etc.

Pictures of the new room to follow – we know you will love it. If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see in the new room please do let us know – you know your children best and we are always open to suggestions!
