When it comes to the question of Pre-School or School Nursery Class, families are looking for one thing:
The best start for their child’s educational journey
At Muddy Boots, we know that making that decision, between either starting or staying at a private day nursery or moving to a school nursery is a really difficult one, one that leaves parents feeling confused, worried and usually a little stressed.
So we have put together a little guide, with answers to the most commonly asked questions at Muddy Boots Nursery, as well as our little series of blogs!
In this post we are answering question 3: Is there any difference in Staff Ratios?
Most School Nursery Classes would follow a 1:13 ratio (one staff member for every thirteen children). Private nurseries, like us at Muddy Boots, ensure a 1:8 ratio.
Additionally, at nurseries like us at Muddy Boots, each child has a key person. This is someone with whom they are friendly and comfortable, and will be your point of contact for information and updates on your child’s progression throughout their educational journey. Whilst at a school-based pre-school a similar school may be in place, it’s something we really focus on and make a priority at Muddy Boots.
We are also proud of the fact that at Muddy Boots we have a qualified Early Years Teacher in our Pre-Schools, joined by highly qualified practitioners.
